Acidity is caused by an excess or imbalance of digestive acids. People of all ages get affected by it. Eating more spicy foods, irregular eating, stress, lack of exercise or drinking alcohol frequently are major reasons leading to acidity. The symptoms are stomach ache, gas, nausea and bad breath.
Excess acid can be neutralized and flushed out from your stomach by simply drinking water. If you frequently suffer from acidity, then there are many more simple ingredients available in your kitchen or refrigerator that can be used to get relief from stomach acidity.
Tulsi Leaves: Simply eat some Tulsi leaves. Be sure to chew them thoroughly. Another option is to boil three to five Tulsi leaves in a cup of water and then let it simmer for a few minutes. You can sweeten this tulsi tea with honey. Do not add milk.
Dalchini: Boil half a teaspoon of Dalchini powder in a cup of water and allow it to steep for a few minutes. Drink three times in a day.
Buttermilk: Drink plain buttermilk several times a day until you get relief.
Apple Cider Sirka (Vinegar): Mix one or two teaspoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider sirka (Vinegar) in a cup of water. Drink it once or twice a day. You can also drink it before meals.
Cloves: Eating crushed cloves and cardamom mixed in equal amounts can help minimize acid trouble and also freshen bad breath.
Jeera Seeds: Boil one teaspoon of Jeera seeds in a cup of water, strain it and then drink the water after your meal.
Ginger: Even a spoonful of ginger juice taken two to three times a day can provide relief from acidity.
Jaggery: Suck a small piece of jaggery, after each meal until acidity subsides. This remedy is not for diabetics.
Saunf: After eating heavy or spicy meal chew some Saunf (Fennel Seeds). It can help you to get rid of acidity.
Cold Milk: Drink a glass of cold milk to give you relief from acidity.
Next time try these remedies when you suffer from acidity. If you do not get relief within two or three days, consult a doctor.
