Dr. Vasumathy Vedantham is a Vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in diabetic eye disease, Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). She has been adjudged as one of the top twenty women ophthalmologists in India by the Ophthalmology World Report. She is one of the thirty paediatric retina specialists in India today.

Both the doctors are well experienced in their respective sub-specialities, and well respected in the ophthalmic fraternity. They were associated with premier eye institutes in the country such as Aravind Eye Hospital & Postgraduate Institute of Ophthalmology, Madurai, where they worked as consultants for five years, L.V.Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai where they received extensive training. They have several publications in peer reviewed national and international ophthalmic journals and presentations at various conferences, where they are much sought after speakers, to their credit.

Radhatri Nethralaya (RN), an ISO accredited organisation, has a strong philanthropic vision and has been collaborating with EKAM Foundation, an NGO via a private-public partnership with the Govt. of Tamilnadu at The Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (IOG), Stanley , RSRM and Kilpauk Government Medical Colleges, Chennai, for free screening and treatment of preterm babies with a blinding disorder known as Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). It is one of the top referral centres in the country for ROP.
