Hindu Mission Hospital was started on 5th Dec 1982 as a not for profit hospital at Tambaram on the National Highway with a view to cater to the needs of the community. Today the hospital stands as a majestic landmark both medically and as a service organization of repute. Over the years the hospital has developed into a rapidly expanding Multi - Specialty Hospital with state of the art facilities including 9 operation theatres and highly trained doctors and nurses to match. The hospital performs, to name a few - cardiac surgery, spine surgery, orthopaedic surgery, neuro surgery, etc.,

Apart from a robust teaching program the hospital has a very successful School of nursing and also a College of Nursing with a Diploma and B. Mission

Hindu Mission hospital is a charity institution serving the needs of the community. Since its inception the hospital has shown a strong commitment to serve the underprivileged section of society.

The inhabitants of the villages in and around the hospital were mainly daily wage earners and were unable to access Medicare due to transportation problems and nature of their livelihood.

Keeping this scenario in mind, the Hindu Mission Hospital has taken medical care to the door step of 110 villages through its various free rural health care schemes.

Clinical research

Hindu Mission Hospital has established a exclusive department of clinical research in Jan 2016. We have a trained team of research coordinators who are engaged in execution of the various clinical research projects in the hospital. All aspects of the project beginning from protocol preparation, submission of documents to Institutional ethics committee, Informed consent, data collection, Statistical analysis and writing scientific manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals are managed by the staff of Clinical research department. We have a registered institutional ethics committee that meets regularly to review the Clinical research projects. The ethics committee has been constituted according to the Rule 122 DD of scheduled Y guidelines. Currently, a number of prospective cohort studies are being carried out in the department of Diabetology, Opthalmology & Nephrology. Clinicians, IEC members and staff of the clinical research team are formally trained in GCP (Good Clinical practices).

I had been experiencing chronic pain over 3 years on both my shoulders; I had tried several remedies before like physiotherapy, acupuncture, etc and when nothing worked, I met Dr. Sivasubramanian (Ortho surgeon). I was impressed with his willingness to trust my symptoms and not just what the MRI scan reported. I am glad that the surgeon took my inputs into consideration.
